Help pet owners know what to expect. A photo of the waiting room, exterior, or your team makes a big difference for nervous first-timers.
Be the first to add a photoI've brought several dogs to VCA Southpaws over the years, for escalated treatment. At least in my experience, this isn't the place for compassion--it's not a place for a recurring vet that takes their time with your dog. It's a place for veterinary emergencies and often-costly treatment courses and surgery. I can remember my dog Jackie beginning to be sick around COVID--I brought her in for diagnostics. Of course, no results are available onsite--the vet would get in touch within a couple of days. A day or so later, I'd get a call from an undisclosed number at about 10:00 PM--which of course I always missed. The vet would give her quick run-through of Jackie's diagnostics, and then hang up, with no possible way of following up. That's my defining memory of VCA Southpaws--they have plenty of business, and they can focus on providing technically correct veterinary medicine without worrying about the human customer experience of it. Go there if you're in the area and your dog is having an emergency or needs major surgery. (And even then, I recommend the Hope Veterinary Treatment Center--not cheaper but far more compassionate and interactive with pet parents.)
