A busy and expensive hospital -- good but impersonal

I brought my jack russell terrier here several times as she was getting sicker with renal issues and ultimately failure. I was there for a lot of tests and a surgery. Friendship is almost the only game in town, for a full-service animal hospital in northwest D.C. I can't complain about the quality of care, they seemed very diligent in trying to diagnose and treat my dog's kidney issues. It was all very costly. Also the waiting room was pretty chaotic, in my experience. Maybe not a fair criticism for a hospital (vs. a small general practice), but it stuck with me. I ultimately went to Hope Veterinary Treatment Center in Vienna, and was happier.
